As we saw in Monster, Steve got our attention by writing his story in the form of a movie script. He made sure to add in descriptive details, elements of his surroundings, and an array of characters. His story ebbed and flowed and made the reader become intertwined in what they were reading and what they thought would happen. He made sure to put his personal emotions and feelings on papaer, as well as made sure to allow the reader to come to their own conclusions about what was happening. Come together with your group and discuss how you would continue the book. Start on page 279 and see where Steve left off. What is he feeling? What is heppening to the other characters? What is haunting him? And most importantly, how will this all play into a new movie/book? Read here to see common traits of a screenplay. Remeber, it must be written like Steve wrote it, as a play. It needs to be a minimum of 3 pages, and no more than 6. Get creative!
